It’s like a good version of iTunes. It has an incredible feature list. It does all of the iTunes media library stuff, but it will also search the web for media, catalogue it for you, and allow you to easily subscribe to media feeds or copy the music or video to your local media library. And because it’s built on the XUL engine from the Mozilla Foundation (the same stuff that makes Firefox), it’s completely cross platform. It’s on my windoze box at work already, but have no doubt that in mere hours it will be on my Mac Mini and my Ubuntu laptop. All this, and it’s still only in “developer preview” version 0.2. Expect to hear more about this very soon.

This is an awesome screen shot, and true. Ubuntu is the cure for the Micro$oft virus, but more to the point, is just a great OS. I’m using it on my old (‘02 model) Compaq laptop and it works great. Wireless networking was simple, the desktop looks great, and I can get all the software I’ll ever need: All for free.
If you’re even remotely thinking about trying Linux, your first stop should be Ubuntu.
